The collection consists of an album, filled almost entirely with entries by Elise Gutkind made from 1918-1938, though the bulk of the manuscript appears to have been written in 1918. The narrative chronicles the family history of the Gutkinds and Weinbergs and includes many clippings, mementos, invitations, correspondence, photographs, and other memorabilia related to the family history as well as commentary on contemporary events. The book ends on September 29, 1938 with a dedication to Gabriele, Elise's grandchild

Gabriele Gutkind

Jenny Weinberg née Levin was married to Bernard Weinberg. They had 3 daughters: Johanna married Robert Wolff in 1870, Martha married Herrmann Bab in 1871, and Elise (b. 1852) married Hermann Gutkind in 1874. Hermann Gutkind died in 1916. Johanna Wolff née Weinberg died in 1924. Elise perished in Theresienstadt in 1942
